Annai Teresa Ninaivu Marriage Assistance for Orphan Girls is a scheme designed by the Tamil Nadu government with the aim of giving financial security to orphan girls. This scheme is launched by the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department.

The government launched the scheme to help poor women in an economically challenged society who lost their parents or abandoned by their parents.

Objectives of Scheme:

Annai Teresa Ninaivu Marriage Assistance for Orphan Girls is to give financial guidance to girls without parents for their marriage and build confidence in society.

Eligibility Criteria:

Orphan status:

  • The Women who apply for this scheme should be an orphans.
  • A government-approved certificate stating that both the parents are either dead or there is no one to take care of them.

Age of Bride:

The bride should be the age of 18 years or above to apply for this marriage assistance scheme.

Age of Bridegroom:

The bridegroom should be the age of 21 years or above.

Both the bride and groom should have completed the above age to qualify for this scheme

Residence:

  • Bride should be the resident of India
  • Moreover, only the residents of Tamil Nadu are eligible for this scheme other State people are not eligible.

Marital Status:

  • The marital status of the girl should be unmarried.
  • The bride should apply for this, before the marriage.

Reward given:

According to this scheme, financial assistance for orphan girl’s marriages is given by the Tamil Nadu government.

Scheme I:

  • If the bride has completed the 10th standard or has no education qualification, then the bride is eligible for Rs. 25,000 and an 8-gram gold coin.
  • This 8-gram gold coin generally given by government to make Thirumangalayam.
  • Only one daughter of the poor widow can apply for this scheme.
  • Submit the application before 40 days of marriage.
  • The age of bride should be 18 Years and above.
  • Also, the age of the groom should be 21 years and above.

Scheme II:

  • If the bride has completed her Degree or diploma, then the bride is eligible for Rs. 50,000 and an 8-gram gold coin.
  • This 8-gram gold coin generally given by government to make Thirumangalayam.
  • Only one daughter of the poor widow can apply for this scheme.
  • Submit the application before 40 days of marriage.
  • The age of bride should be 18 Years and above.
  • Also, the age of the groom should be 21 years and above.

  • Passport size Photograph of bride

How to apply:

The application process is the same for both of the above schemes.

  • Apply in the District Social Welfare Office, Panchayat, or Taluk Office.
  • Apply through website https://www.tnesevai.tn.gov.in/
  • Moreover, Collect the above documents required to apply in E-seva.
  • Get the form and fill with required details.
  • Submit the form along with the documents required.
  • After the verification, the reward will be granted.

Release of reward:

Financial assistance will be given either before the marriage or after registration of the marriage.
